TITLE:                                 ASSOCIATE TEACHER

REPORTS TO:                   SCHOOL DIRECTOR

FLSA STATUS:                  Exempt

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  1. Manage student learning and classroom supporting Distance Learning Teacher.
  2. Assist students in the virtual leaning environment.
  3. Support blended learning rotational model as indicated in daily lesson plans.
  4. Collaborate with Distance Learning Teachers weekly to ensure seamless instruction delivery.
  5. Take daily attendance in accordance with TEA student attendance accounting procedures.
  6. Grade assignments and record grades in grade book as required.
  7. Assists students as needed.
  8. Provides accommodations in the classroom for special education students.
  9. Provides student orientations as directed.
  10. Completes required documentation.
  11. Works with small groups of students or individually as required.
  12. Assist students with technology functions/issues.
  13. Respects the confidential nature of the classroom and will refer to the classroom teacher if a problem arises.
  14. Performs such other office duties and/or tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be designated or assigned by immediate supervisors.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                        

  1. Must be highly qualified as an Instructional Assistant according to Texas Education Agency guidelines.
  2. Proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner and relate to a variety of constituencies, including but not limited to administrators, parents, teachers, students, other school staff, and school visitors.
  3. Possesses good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  4. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  5. Must possess a sense of humor.
  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
  7. Ability to seamlessly use a variety of instructional technologies in a competent way that advances student learning.

NORMAL WORKING HOURS AND DAYS:

Part-time or full-time, Monday through Friday, as designated by the school site hours of operation and the Student Academic Calendar for the location.

EVALUATION:                                  Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with procedures established by the district on the evaluation of support personnel.

SALARY:                                             Per current board approved RMA TX Pay Scale
