TITLE:                                     CAMPUS INSTRUCTIONAL COACH

REPORTS TO:                      SCHOOL DIRECTOR

 

JOB PURPOSE: The Campus Instructional Coach is charged with mining data for staff and student assessment, conducting classroom walkthroughs to support sound “blended” instructional practice, trains staff, identifies strengths and weaknesses in the instructional program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):         

 

Instructional Management

    1. Assists with data organization from all assessments and diagnostic instruments and develops strategies for intervening with students who are experiencing difficulties.
    2. Engages staff in intensive data analysis and results planning
    3. Implements and supports the goals determined by the district/schools’ School Improvement Plan.
    4. Works collaboratively with other educators to integrate educational initiatives and resources
    5. Assists in program implementation and curriculum development
    6. Assists schools in developing and implementing School Improvement Plans designed to meet individual schools’ student achievement needs.
    7. Assists schools in determining effective methods for the integration of curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and the developmental use of authentic assessment.
    8. Models a variety of instructional strategies designed to be rigorous and mirror assessment.
    9. Assists in identifying professional development needs and developing long-range professional development plans.
    10. Supervises instructional planning efforts on the campus to ensure classroom delivery meets targeted objectives.
    11. Support the blended learning framework by working with teachers to effectively plan and deliver instruction tailored to student needs and reflective of sound differentiated strategies.
    12. Support and provide guidance for the maintenance and reporting of local campus “metrics”.
    13. Assists in the preparation of information for entry on students’ cumulative records; contributes data concerning student needs to ensure that every student is on track to graduate.
    14. Other duties as assigned.
    15. QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. A strong major in education, administration or curriculum/instruction with a working knowledge of academic and administrative use of computers.
  2. A valid state administrator's certification preferred.
  3. A combination of at least five (5) years of successful experience as a classroom teacher and as a supervisor.  
  4. A proven ability to relate to a variety of constituencies.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Demonstrated leadership and management ability.
  7. A sense of humor.
  8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Corporate Board may deem appropriate. FLSA STATUS:                  Exempt
  9. PAY GRADE:                                      Per current board approved RMA pay scale.
  10. SUPERVISES:                                    Professional and paraprofessional staff members as assigned.

TRAVEL:                                             Some travel is required

NORMAL WORKING HOURS AND DAYS:

Monday through Friday, as designated by the school site hours of operation.
